Abstract:	十九世紀以來，中、英文獻都對1867年基隆海嘯提供了部分的描述。本文重新檢視中、英、日、西、俄文等文獻資料，並加入一些過去未曾使用的文獻，重建該地震參數與其影響範圍。經分析後，建立此次地震的主要參數：時間：1867年12月18日1時40分（世界時），震央區域：金山、萬里、基隆，震央：25.2.degree.N，121.6.degree.E或25.3.degree.N，121.7.degree.E，規模：7.0。判斷此次海嘯可能來自山腳正斷層的再活動。
