Abstract:	行道樹是人為的自然，除了綠化都市環境外，並具有美學、環境及空間上三大功能。但是，行道樹的生長環境有相當多的限制因子，例如：熱島效應、空間狹窄、土壤貧瘠、空氣污染及欠缺維護管理等。本文試著探討行道樹維護工作中修枝的重要性，及如何讓民眾體認行道樹所提供的重要功能。行道樹的維護工作，除了由政府部門執行外，更應該由大家共同協力維護，本文試著收集相關資料，透過環境教育的概念，利用建立認養制度、設置解說牌、舉辦活動等方式，來啟發民眾對行道樹的喜愛，從認識行道樹開始，到瞭解行道樹，進行有能力保護行道樹，提昇居住環境品質。
