Abstract: Objective: Cervical pain and discomfort are common complaints among pilots of high performance fighters (HPF). This case report describes the assessment and management of cervicogenic headache and functional impairment of a F-16 pilot. Case Report: We present a 39-year-old male who suffered from headache over vertex area and right shoulder pain for five years. The problems were probably caused by episodes of neck injuries induced in high G-force environment. We introduced tender-point ischemic compression therapy to his tenderness areas and then observed dramatic improvement in pain, neck flexibility and isometric strength. Surprisingly, the patient’s balance performance also improved, which was parallel to his improvement of neck pathology. Conclusion: Ischemic compression therapy to neck tender points relieves cervicogenic headache caused by high G-forces neck injuries. The comprehensive neck assessment effectively reveals the neck pathology and efficacy of treatment.
