      景美溪為新店溪下游右岸支流,流域位於台北市之東南方。面積113.72平方公里,主流長28.25公里,河槽坡降為千分之12.27,平均高度為259.4公尺,圓比值為0.5,中位比高為0.35,殘體指數為0.31,流域坡度為千分之18.36,以西北坡向所占面積最廣。
      由於流域形狀東西狹長,故將本流域劃分為上、下游,分別討論其年、月、日三種時間單位之雨量及流量特性。並以極端值I型及對數皮爾森III型兩極模式估計其不同頻率之水文量。
      因為本流域以丘陵、山地面積最廣,復毗鄰台北市信義新都市中心,故將來土地利用除應配合本區自然環境特性外,尤應順應台北都會區人口成長與活動之需求。而區域土地發利用應將地形及水文特性列為首要考慮因素。

    Abstract
      Chingmei stream, one of the main tributaries to Hsintien stream, locates between Taipei basin and Peishih stream basin. The low plain surrounding its lower course is of flood-prone area. However, due to its closing to the new subcenter district of Taipei city, the plain has been intensively developed and heavily populated, and is bound to be more intensified following the complete of Feitsui reservoir in 1987.
      Looking back to its history, unfortunetly, serious flood damages have occurred many times in the downstream area. Apparently, there must be misuse of water and land resources existing in this basin.
      This paper is divided into two main parts: Part 1 deals with the hydrologic characteristics of the basin streamflow and water resources management. A variety of rainfall and streamflow frequences were estimated based on both the extreme value type I model and log-Pearson type III model. Part 2 deals with the land use pattern and its problems and the evaluatin of land resources. From the geographical viewpoint, the optimum measure for land resources management of the basin would be providing a variety of recreation opportunity to meet the wide demand for recreation activities of the increasing population of the Taipei metropolitan area.
