The subjects included 1563 teachers from Taipei junior high schools participated in this study. "Teacher Support Inventory" and "Teacher Burnout" were developed and administered to subjects. The obtained data were analyzed by Factor Analysis, T-test, and Stepwise Regression. Results of this study indicate that 1. teachers would find three functions of support including: emotional, teaching and administrative support. 2. Teachers would find different sources of support depending on their needs. So they searched condifant (spouse) in emotional style of support and colleagues in teaching or adminstrative style of support; but colleagues are very important role in support. 3. social support can reduce teachers burnout softly, teachers who were experiencing the least amount of burnout identified adminstrative support as a Significant support, but support is harmful effect in the high degree burnout of teachers group; more support would induce more burnout. Suggestions from this study include:1. Improve panel data which are needed to study causal effects by linear structural relations model. 2. Emphasize the importance of the role of the principal in intervening in the burnout process. 3. Provide positive, consistent, administrative support, especially the support from the other teachers was very important.
