ABSTRACT Tonghua is interesting, meaningful, and imaginery story which is based upon children's life and child development, and is written in children's language and artistic way. Normally, there must be some personal figures in a story which the author will put more stress on. In this study, the personal characteristics are classified as common and particular natures through analysis and inductive method. Common nature may be shown from one's appearance, action and habits while particular nature can only be observed from one's doings and inner feelings. As for configuration of figures, there are direct and indirect ways of description. Figures are directly described by certain statement, explanation, analysis, titling and someone's remarks or indirectly presented turough self performance, reflections of other figures and environment atmosphere.
