Abstract Yu, Wei-chi in Sung Dynasty (Lin Sung) had his great achievement in the study of decorum in Chinese society. His research on funeral rites was particularly well-known. Many of his points were cited by scholar Kung, Ying-da in his research on Book of Rites. This paper focuses on Yu's discussion on funeral rites appling to relatives and the changes of such rites according to special circumstances. Yu's discussion on the subject combined literature with his own insight. It is, therefore, a valuable reference for researchers of Chinese funeral rites.
