      《貓城記》是老舍小說創作中,少有人論及的作品之一。這主要是因為本書所涉及的層面,不僅是文學的,更是文化的。在藝術表現上也以一種似幻似真、虛實交錯的寓言式結構,營造出貓人與近現代中國在文化問題上的同質性。因此,無論從創作意圖或藝術成果來看,《貓城記》都是理解老舍文化觀點與寫實路線的重要作品。本文即由此出發,論述老舍對中國文化的反思及藝術成就。

    Abstract
      "Cat City Story" is the least highlighted and disscussed one in Shu Chinq-Chuen's novelwork, because its involved level is not only literatural but also cultural. On art behavior, it's a kind of fabled structure seems illusional or ture, aerial but real; build the homogeneity of culture problems between cat man and near modern Chinese. So, check it from creature intention and art achievement, "Cat City Story" is an important work to realize Shu Chinq-Chuen's culture viewpoints and realistic line. This thesis will discuss Shu Chinq-Chuen's art achievement and introspecting thinking for China Culture.
