Abstract:	提要〈西銘〉原名為<訂頑〉，是張載公布於學堂雙牖右倒的一篇短文，後程頤改為〈西銘〉，認為其旨意純粹廣大可達天德，十分推崇。〈西銘〉一文是將形上理論與道德價值相給合，並且發揮了孔孟以來的「仁學」，其要義便在於由己的仁心推擴出去，將宇宙大化之事全繫乎吾人身上，由此奠定人存在的可貴性，並且視天下萬物為一體，而有「民我同胞，物吾與也」的仁愛精神。因〈西銘〉一文闡述了儒家思想大意，無論是二程或朱子，都給予極高的評價，本文試從內容釋義、仁學理論、理想境界三方面論〈西銘〉宗旨，以明其仁學觀。
