Abstract Tonghua is interesting, meaningful, and imaginery story which is based upon children's life and child development, and is written in children's language and artistic way. The choice and application of viewpoint is very essential to make a good and vivid story. This study is written in an effort to deal with the viewpoint of Tonghua. it is composed of three parts. In part 1, I try to introduce what the viewpoint of Tonghua is. In part 2, internal and external viewpoints have been discussed, internal viewpoints include the first person "I" as main role, the first person "I" as supporting role, the first person "I" as an observer, and plural viewpoint "We". External viewpoints include omniscient viewpoint, the third-person character viewpoint and objective viewpoint, In part 3, the study is concerning the choice and application of viewpoint. With regard to application, single viewpoint and combination viewpoint have been presented. There are three kinds of single viewpoint. There are two kinds of combination viewpoint.
