    Abstract: This Research paper presents the case study of a male chinese adolescent immigrant who lived in new York's chinatown. The hypothesis of this study was that shield making as part of a brief art therapy format would assist the subject in expressing feelings related to immigration, as well as enhancing his ethnic identity and self-esteem. This paper contains a treatment protocol physically abused by his father. The researcher used the cognitive and symbolic art therapy approach, where the media and interventions provided an arena for the subject to gain insights into his immigration experience and explore his self-concept. An AB single subject experimental research design was utilized to investigate the efficiency of the study. The result of research showed that brief art therapy could be useful to strengthen the ethnic identity of an immigrant teenager which ultimately his adaptation.
