Lubuw is one of the traditional instruments in Taiwan’s aborigines. Atayal, one of major tribes in Taiwan, inherited the cultural treasures of Lubuw that has significant standing in Atayal’s music. This study adopted literature analysis and in-depth of fieldwork methodology to interview seniors from Atayal tribes and archivists to understand Atayal’s culture and Lubuw’s manufacturing process and usage. This article will introduce Lubuw’s categories, names, play methods and curricula that cultural workers have more valuable perception of Lubuw.
